Hurricanes at PalmBreezeCAFE TV

Crossposted @

As we prepare to make our Public Service Announcements, our students are in the process of organizing their thoughts and creating Hurricane Preparedness brochures. Last week, I shared some interesting hurricane tracking sites with them and has since become my latest favorite. The day I shared it with my class was also the day we taped our first show of the season for (our web and tech local cable TV show). I decided to ditch what I had previously planned and show this site instead. Here I am with co-host, Lee Keller, showing the site from

In addition to the National Geographic site, some other useful sites are:

  • from Discovery Education

  • (Sun Sentinel)

I appreciate you taking time and sharing your resources. I have always enjoyed watching PalmBreezeCafe via your YouTube channel. Keep up the great work.

I am curious if one of the links you used with the students was http://www.stormpulse.com/? I had this site shown to me last fall by a Superintendent of Schools here in Kansas. I really like this site for looking at weather events.

@Dean,
Thanks! Another great site to add to the list (which I just did!).

This site would be great when I become a teacher to use with my students on weather. Thanks for the great ideas
