The Meat Loaf Went Bad!

Meat Loaf is one of those singers who brings me back to my youth. I was in high school (Spring Valley High, NY) and he was singing, "Two out of three ain't bad." Debbie and I and all the girls were in love with him, until we saw what he looked like! Ew! We'd never seen anyone sweat like that before.

Still his music is soulful and fun and I finally got my husband to go to a concert with me! Life was good! It was raining and we had our ponchos. How unlike both of us to be sitting in an outdoor ampitheater, holding $8.00 beers, wearing rain ponchos and watching a concert! We (even Hubby) were having a great time, and we were surprised at how many of the words we knew to the songs. After the 3rd song, the lights on stage went out and a dweeb
(Ok, ok, not a dweeb... apparently a very talented, clearly DWEEBLESS, artist name Kasim Sulton who is obviously much more talented than Meat Loaf-according to an anonymous commentor ~ maybe... I have not listened to his music, but I will. So, watch for future posting.) updated 4/7/07
came out and took the microphone to announce that Meat Loaf is sick and will reschedule this show. What???? Save your tickets he said, and listen to the radio. Geez! For now I'll have to enjoy his "Monster is Loose" album in my car along with the memories invoked by listening to his songs.

That "Dweeb" is Kasim Sulton,a much more talented musician than Mr. Loaf. Idiot.

My apologies, Mr. Sulton. I don't even know you. You just seemed a little dweebish with the way you suggested that the most important thing here is, after all, that Mr. Loaf feels better! I'm sure everyone hopes he feels better... that said, I paid $90.00 to sit on a wet seat, and I even checked the ticketmaster website right before leaving for the show. If ML was not feeling up to it, it would have been nicer to have known (in advance) that the show would be cancelled and rescheduled.

No hard feelings here. I enjoyed the first few songs and hope he reschedules soon. And by the way, Mr. Sulton, if you are so much more talented, why did my ticket say "Meat Loaf" and not "Kasim Sulton?"

I was there, drove down from PSL to see him, and knew from the beginning of "Paradise" that he had "Throat Issues" sounded like the flu. Every review of this tour i have read said he has been in great voice so i knew he had some temporary issues.

In a way, im glad he quit at that point or we would have had a horrible memory to live with, he sounded real bad during those 3 songs (that he did play through). Hopefully we will get a makeup date and we will get the amazing show we deserve and paid good money to see.

I always felt we should get something for the trouble when these things happen (rare thing) like a free t-shirt or something. I figure coming 70+ miles to see him it cost me 20 in gas and 10 in tolls.. 30 bucks! no biggie but a damn t-shirt would be nice :-)
As for the wet seat, yeah, i know.. It stinks.. Outdoor shows in S.Fla is always a gamble.Been through many soakers over the years. At least in Palm Beach (Ampitheatre) the seating area is somewhat covered. Unfortunately Meat isn't commanding the 10-15000 seat venues these days.

Hey! A T-Shirt would be really nice. Even a discount... $30.00 is too much even to wear the Loaf! You never know if something good will come our way for our troubles...Backstage passes to his next show or even a Kasim Sulton CD, who knows? :)

I'm not Kasim Sulton, I am a fan of his, if your ticket said "Spice Girls" would that mean they are more talented?

Mizner holds approx. 3600 people, backstage aint gonna happen :-) but a t-shirt is fair.

Obviously Kasim Sulton's blogsite found you and posted a link to your "review" which is kinda cool for a local gal like yourself.

If you haven't figured out by now Lee, Kasim is the bassist and "Musical Director" for Meat Loaf (has been for a few tours now) and is a pretty fine gent. He's played with many bands in the past and is well regarded in the music industry.

Save your tickets as it looks like we will get the makeup show either during his break (somewhere between mid-April and mid-May) before he goes to Europe or in July / August when he comes ack to the states to play some more shows. Either way we ARE getting a makeup show.

History generally has shown that when this happens to an artist, the makeup show is usually a step above what we would have gotten (they do get remorseful!) :-)

Till then, keep posting.. Looks liek you have a nice blog here.

Lee,

One thing Mr. Sulton is not is a DWEEB, He is HOT HOT HOT!
If you bothered to do a little checking before you pounced, you would see that his credentials speak for themselves. Oh and did I mention that he is HOT? I don't know of a more GENEROUS, more KIND, more COOL, HOTTER, great musician.
Tell you what ... he's just released a solo CD ... I'd be happy to buy you one, send it to you and you can decide for yourself... Oh, did I mention he is HOT!?
Take care! Love YA!

The Orlando Concert at Hard Rock Live was cancelled completely. We didn't know anything about it until we got down there and there was a piece of paper taped to the front doors stating that due to illness, the concert was postponed. No other info was given. There were a couple of guys from Belgium, one from Germany and a family that had driven down from Alabama the day before :( :(
